Communicating with anyone must start with understanding the language they speak! In the same sense, gearing your information to the needs of your intended audience will help to reach them.
The trouble is of course that you will have many different audiences using your site so you can't tailor your site to just one audience in the same way a product company can change their ad pitch depending if they are running the ad in Motor Trend or Family Circle. What you can do is try to direct different audiences to different areas of your site where you have geared the message more towards their needs.

The seeker oriented church in the illustration above presented their beliefs in everyday simplistic language but also allowed the user to probe deeper by linking those simple phrases to detailed explanations. Telling your story to people in their language does not mean you need to water down you beliefs or the Gospel message! |
